We are happy to take on small update projects, or large residential projects – including new home builds – while we synchronize your design plans with building contractors and skilled trades individuals. Local suppliers provide their own quotes, as we work with them to purchase the final products for your home.

The MMXX Process
1. Initial complimentary phone call.
2. Complete the questionnaire found here. You can make suggestions for the style, budget, area of the house you want designed, and further details to start our discussion on the project.
3. Onsite consultation (typically takes 1 hour at $90/hour). We can discuss lighting, painting and furniture. New home design plans may include practical kitchen layouts. You will be provided with an approximate price to prepare layouts, source furnishings, which we can discuss over the phone before the project begins.
4. When working with commercial clients, we focus on completing any design project with minimal disruption to your business.
5. As the lead designer, Cristina is with you through every phase of the project, or as much as you see fit. With MMXX Design you can customize how much support you require.
Interior Design Services for Your New Home
Building a new home is exciting but can be overwhelming with all the design choices you need to make before completion and your contractors leave the building site. A new home is like a blank canvas, and we understand the confusion that can happen when you flip through stacks of colour palettes, brochures and product samples. Your first step is to call for an onsite consultation to develop goals toward achieving a balance in function, comfort and style. With MMXX Design on board, you can relax and watch your home decorating plans come to life in an orderly fashion that makes sense and pulls your ideas together.

How do Interior Designers charge for their services?
Interior designers’ charges can vary. At MMXX I charge an hourly rate of $90/hr. The reason for this is simple: everyone is looking for help in different ways. Charging an hourly rate allows everyone to be able to utilize my services. I’ve worked with a variety of clients. Some only are looking for advice on one room or paint colours – others need a consultant on a building plan. For both, an hourly consultation fee would meet their needs.
Could you bring me samples so I wouldn’t have to feel so overwhelmed with the many options you find at the suppliers?
Absolutely! Generally, every project starts with an hour consultation. In that time, we would discuss your ideas, project and budget. This is a perfect time for you to share inspirational photos so I can determine your style. Then from there I would select finishings to present to you in our next meeting.
What do I do next to set up a meeting?
Just simply fill out the contact form on my website and from there I will reach out to you. We will set up a time to chat over the phone and schedule the consultation.
Do you only work in Kamloops BC?
I live in Kamloops; however, I do travel a 2-hour radius outside of Kamloops to meet with my clients. Anyone living outside of the 2-hour radius is invited to fill out my contact form and set up a phone call to see if we could work together virtually utilizing Zoom or Facetime.
Do you have your own contractors or could I use someone I know?
I do not have my own contractors / tradespeople (I do have contractors and tradespeople I have worked with in the past who I would highly recommend). However, if you have someone you have used in the past that you’d like to work with again, we would all collaborate together.

Our business needed a desperate face lift...
Our business needed a desperate face lift; however, my business partner and I didn’t have the time to plan how we would do this and run our business at the same time. Cristina met with us in the evenings and took care of all the details. She truly understood that everything would have to somehow get completed without interrupting our business hours. We didn’t give much direction besides reiterating the fact that we needed three workstations and the material used would have to reflect our business nature and withstand high traffic areas. We were blown away with how well she put it all together under budget. We will definitely use Cristina in the future of any other updates.
